I search high and low through the thrift stores looking for cool vintage fashion. I especially love to find items that I can re-invent to be worn differently, such as turning a skirt into a dress or pairing something girly and dressy with denim for a new look. Most of my finds eventually find their way to Ebay for others to enjoy.

another great vintage skirt dress
Look at this awesome vintage pleated skirt that is worn as a dress. It has accordian pleats on the bottom and micro pleats at the top. Pair this with a belt and it becomes a beautiful dress. I found this at the Value Village thrift store for $1.50. They saw it as an old granny skirt...I saw it as re-invented fashion!
vintage nautical skirt dress
sheer floral shirt dress
vintage silk blouse dress
Look at this great vintage 100% silk colorblock blouse dress! I found this at the Value Village store for $3.50. It is the softest silk that I have ever seen. The colors are so vibrant. The trim is an awesome gold metallic leahter. Paired this with a vintage gold braided belt and crazy lime green heels. So Sexy!

cameo blouse
Another great vintage find...this came from the by-the-pound Goodwill store in Charlotte, NC. They weigh all of the clothes and charge a whopping $1.39 per pound...this probably cost $.15. It would be great with a pencil skirt or with shorts as shown. The top is lacey with a Cameo applicque. Sooo Hippie!
vintage blazer dress
Look at this awesome vintage "boyfriend" blazer dress! I found this at the Value Village store for $3.50. It is a very silky polyester fabric....feels like brushed silk. The color is so bright, you gotta wear shades! This is currently listed on Ebay, by seller cthorsedog ...yeah, I know the name is weird..I have been told before!
Check out this awesome blazer! I found it at the Value Village store for $5.50. It is heavily beaded on the lapel and has a great tuxedo tail. This would be great with a tight little mini skirt or as pictured for a quirky night out on the town look! This will soon be listed on Ebay by seller cthorsedog ...yeah, I know it is a weird name, but hey, it works!

This is not your granny's sweater...well, maybe it was, but now it is a hot and sexy summer dress! I found this at the local thrift store for $2.50. It is a Large sweater with a lacey Peter Pan style collar. It has a crochet peek-a-boo texture and is slightly gathered at the bottom. I paired it with a belt and some sandals and voila...now it is a mini dress.
This was a great find at the by-the-pound Goodwill store in Charlotte, NC. They have huge bins full of clothes that you have to dig through but all your finds are weighed and they charge a whopping $1.39 per pound. So this blouse probably cost $.15 or less. It is a large silk Novelty blouse that can be worn as a tent dress or belted. The print is gladiators, so this would be an awesome spring dress with gladiator sandals. For older or less daring, pair it with leggings and sandals to hit the town shopping.

This was from a recent trip to the Value Village store..It is
actually a large vintage blouse with a "Pussy (Galore) Bow."
I paired it with a big buckle belt and some chunky heels and wore it as a daring mini dress. She looks better in it than I do, so you are seeing it on her...of course she would look good in a paper bag...or nothing at all...just saying.

Made a trip to Charlotte to the Goodwill Outlet. There you buy clothing by the pound. $1.39 I found some really cool things. I think I paid about 40cents for this hot blouse... Your granny might have worn it with a pencil skirt. I bet she didn't wear it like this!

Purpose
I love fashion. I am a teacher and don't have a lot of money to spend on clothes. About five years ago, I discovered thrift store shopping. Wow, what a wonderful day that was. Now I have been voted the "Best Dressed" teacher for five years running. I hope to show others how thrift store shopping for vintage items can be fashionable for all ages and styles.
Sounds like fun, huh.
